Carrie Underwood, Queen Latifah Help Launch Super Bowl 44
(Miami, FL) -- Two powerful voices in music are also part of Super Bowl 44 history. Carrie Underwood took the field to help start the NFL championship game on CBS with a rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner." But the former "American Idol" winner offered up the national anthem with a little more passion than precision.

Underwood followed Queen Latifah, who treated the crowd to a performance of "America The Beautiful." The singer and actress, accompanied by a choir, began a traditional rendition of the patriotic song then put a unique, gospel-like spin on the ending. Super Bowl 44, featuring the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints, took place at Miami's Sun Life Stadium, and aired live on CBS on Sunday.
