(Nashville, TN) -- As Kenny Rogers continues to mark his 50th anniversary in the music business, the veteran singer is planning a special concert this spring. Many artists, including Dolly Parton, Wynonna, the Oak Ridge Boys, and Alison Krauss, are on board for the star-studded event, which will be taped for a TV special. Rogers admits that initially he wasn't in favor of the idea, explaining, quote, "When this was first proposed to me as a 50-year celebration, something about that sounded final, and I didn't want that, so I suggested we call it 'The First 50 Years.'" He adds, quote, "I will tell you this, the first 50 years TV show is gonna be awesome.""Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years" is scheduled for the MGM Grand At Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut on April 10th. Tickets for the special show will go on sale this Thursday.
